My dog "Buddy" and I finally got the rabbit today! After tracking through the fileds we got home and that darn rabbit flew out of the bushes! It stunned both of us and then Buddy gave the screeching bark of delight n the race was on...unfortunately, he was lion pawing the ground as hard as he could but I was holding my legs together so hard I couldnt walk let alone run! I forgot I had a "bladder issue"!!! It was totally funny.

Oh, get this. Went to hospital to get a copy of my medical records and the gal asked if I also wanted my sleep analysis report. "My What???" Sleep Analysis. Hmmm, very interesting, I explained, I'd love to see that report especially since I never had one because I could never afford one! She told me I'd get a call when they were ready. Can't wait!!

I'd do a sleep analysis, but it'd be a waste of time. I probably would end up not sleeping. Insomnia sucks.

After being in the hospital in April I was gathering my reports and they wanted to know if I wanted the MRI study. huh?! I didnt have an MRI then. I had many many tests, but an MRI wasnt one of them. Another time I saw my insurance EOB and it had a full body radiation on it. WHAT?! I called the hospital and had them remove it from my record. They wanted to just leave it as it was all paid for. I said Yes! by MY insurance! I have life time limits on that stuff and if you spend it on full body radiation I wont have enough to get my teeth cleaned later on. 2 days later the billing manager called to apologize for a billing error and assured me it was removed. Pay attention when those exp of benefits come in. You find all kinds of crazy stuff. Double bills to billing that doesnt belong on your account. I wonder if they slip some stuff in on mine ,because I have a great policy and its a way to get it paid for. Bet they wont use mine again, i pay attention.

I had a bone density scan and it never got asked ($) for or filed. Works for me, know I'm ok. I hate MRIs, as PPMS they're not really useful for treatment, Neurologist doesn't ask for them anymore.

In 2006, I had a bunch of EOB's come in (Explanation of Benefits) from my insurance company. Weird thing was, that I hadnt been to a doctor for something like 6 months.

The EOB's were addressed to my address, but the name wasnt exactly correct. It was my first and last name (and even middle initial) but there was a hyphen and an extra last name on the letter.

I called the doctor's office that was listed on the EOB and (amazing what they'll tell people) figured out that someone with a similar name to mine was a patient there. I'd never been to that particular doctor (some neurologist) I explained that they'd sent me a bill by mistake. They said they'd fix it. (I called my insurance company too and warned them what was going on and that it wasnt me)

That entire summer I got like 10 EOB's for my evil twin. I pretty much figured out after calling those doctors offices that she was being diagnosed, ironically enough, with MS.

in 2006, before I got that first EOB, my right hip had gone numb. Later that summer, in august I had my first experience with Optic Neuritis.

My insurance was so screwed up from the evil twin's crap being attached to it. I was having trouble getting that removed from my insurance. Went in to get an MRI and the insurance wasnt going to pay for it because according to them I'd already had three. (never had one before then) I had to put it on my credit card. Eventually got reimbursed for it, but it was such a pain in the <bleep>.

It really is amazing how much information I was able to find out about evil twin. I know where she works, (she's a teacher) and that she has serious money problems. (I've gotten a couple of calls from collectors looking for her), I know her birthday and her diagnosis. I'm also pretty sure how she got on my insurance.

In 2001, I'd hurt my ankle. Ruptured the Achilles tendon. Went to a doctor at a hospital in midtown. Got my ankle fixed. In 2006, evil twin went to the same hospital. Apparently when they were checking her in to her appointment one day, they didnt ask for any information from her like her address or insurance company. They just clicked on the first name that came up on their computer. (there were 5 other people in the computer with my same name...which means my name isnt as unique as I thought it was)

I finally got everything straightened out in january of 2007...just in time to get diagnosed with MS myself. Freaky as heck that my evil twin also has MS.

It's scary to have something like that happen with your insurance. Especially if it happens at the same time that you really need that insurance. So, keep a serious eye on your insurance information when it comes in.

Make sure that everything coming in to you is correct, and keep track of your medical records. They belong to you. You have a right to the information that's in them.

Wow-now that has really cemented my brain into demanding to keep a watchful eye on everything-However, I am on medicare/medicaid and govt put me on a payee system-someone else has to pay the bills etc., so I never would have known because I never get the bills! Im gonna delve into mine more now that I have heard your story. I also found out I have lung disease-MS of the bladder/bowels and hyperplasia of thymectomy. No one has ever said any of this to me!
