Default We made it!

PHWEEE - Made it to Kansas city - all in one piece - actually GD did a great job of driving. Here's the funny.

We finally found 501 sw blvd - one look and I tearfully said (after driving around lost for 45 mins) You guys aren't leaving me here! I cant stay here!

Son n GD just kept laughing...so son went in to see if we were at the right place - well, we weren't. We were at the Latino bus depot!!! Hahaha. On the Missouri side. We had to drive down SW Blvd to Kansas side for the "other" 501 address. I was never so relieved in all my life!

Got dumped off at better motel and couldnt sleep a wink. Next day found a place called Doggies World of Fun to board my pup for Tues while at doc visit and exams.

What a wild place that was! Doggie heaven - no. My pup had a blast and was wore out to the bone. So that worked out great - free shuttle from motel to doggie world and hospital for me. Restaurants in easy walking distance-clean motel, nice staff and great continental breakfast. New doc was fantastic and said "In your case, we will definitely be looking outside of the box!! Smiled and then went right to work ordering all kinds of different bloodwork to be sent to Mayo etc, did full body EMG (cept I balked at the end when they wanted to do the throat area-and graciously comforted me and called it a day) It was past 5 pm and Id been there all day.

I loved this new doc!! AHhhhhh...I go back in a few weeks for mri's and muscle biopsy, single fiber something or other, spinal etc and other appts made. Just stuffed info in pocket, smiled midst my tears and will try to sort things out TOMMORROW when I can see and think straight again.

Had a great drive full of fun chit chat and the 4 hour drive home just flew by.

I even only screamed once when GD was driving when she got wayyyy to close up on the behind of a truck. (she was distracted yaking with her dad)

I'm so happy...about new doc, trip, hope...and back to comfort of home.

You and me both!!! LOL. After the near "mugging" from the night before I was not feeling brave enough for the Latino Bus Depot - and I love latinos!

I'm so relieved I was not cast down by new doc into the dumpsters of despair. He was such a breath of fresh air after so many other disaster docs!!LOL

Tresa,
I am so happy for you. You finally found a great doctor who will take care of you and help you. You did good, and so did your Granddaughter. She must be proud of you, and herself. Now you both have more confidence.
