Default I can feel a new symptom starting tonight. :(

I'm worried I'm going to wake up with a numb neck and head tomorrow. I felt this feeling last winter on my right side. It started out with the tingling numb feeling and ended up being pretty painful and annoying. Lasted a month or two. Tonight I'm feeling the tingling numb feeling creeping up the left side of my neck. (this is new! never felt that before on the left side) I'm also feeling a strange sensation in my left ear. (been there, done that on the right ear)

I'm not happy. It's just been in the last 4 or 5 hours that I've noticed this symptom coming on. It's been awhile since I felt a symptom creep up on me like this. Usually it happens when I'm asleep and I wake up with a ton of weirdness.

It's making my hair feel weird.

I went to the eye doctor at 8am (right when they opened) on friday because I had blurred vision and ginormous floater in my right eye, and flashes of light. Eye doctor was worried that I had a retinal tear, but I didnt have any pain, and he said that my retina looked great and my optic nerve looked fine...so he thinks I might be about to have some vision weirdness from the MS. (the flashes of light are a symptom for ON) Told me to call him if anything goes wonky with the vision. Told me to use eye drops to see if the floaters go away.

It's about time for a new little flare. I've been getting a new flare about every 2 months since April. It's probably been all one big flare, but seems to change every two months. Last time I had any new weirdness happen was in late September. Now I've got new weird numbness and I'm getting some new spasticity. (owwwww!!!) and I've been off balance or dizzy a bunch the last couple of weeks.

Why does MS have to be irritating and do it's funky stuff at inconvenient times?

At least I've got my brand new bathroom finished with FIVE grab bars (3 in the shower, two outside the shower) and it's more handicap friendly for getting in and out. I love my new shower! Not as worried that I'm going to fall down getting out of the shower anymore. Love the grab bars!!

and we got my mom's bathroom redone so it matches mine and isnt a mold farm anymore. (her bathroom was remodeled 6yrs ago and the guy who did that had no talent and was a moron. They used the wrong kind of screws on her old grab bars. One of the screws was almost rusted thru.)

I just have to find out from the contractor why the shower door isnt the one we picked out. (the glass was supposed to be the same as mine)

I just have to go buy shower stools for my mom and me. Her old shower stool is all beat up, and I decided that I want one since I used her old beat up one when I had to use her shower while mine was being remodeled first.

I hope when I get up in the morning (in about four hours...contractors coming, we get new carpet!) that I wont have any nastier stuff going on with the stuff I'm noticing tonight.

I'm not any more numb than I was last night, but apparently the Vertigo Fairy visited me overnight. (argh!!)

Not happy about that. Vertigo sucks.

At least we're getting the remodel for the upstairs finished this week. My parents bathroom just got finished, except for some cabinet doors. They're carpeting right now. I'm a happy camper about that. I just wish I wasnt dizzy right now. Went upstairs to get some pop and something for my mom (got her out of the upstairs so she wont trip and break another shoulder) and trying to walk over rolls of carpet when you're dizzy and not fall down isnt fun.

The vertigo is giving me a migraine. I have a headache from the lack of sleep this weekend. I cant wait till the remodels are all done and we dont have construction workers ringing the doorbell every morning while it's still dark outside. They should be mostly done in the next couple of days.

Hopefully then I can get a decent amount of sleep and not be so MSish once everything in the house calms down.

The flashes of light could mean a migrain coming on and the vertigo. I hope it goes away as fast as it came.

Good luck with your remodling.

I was trying to walk around the rolls of new carpeting today and not trip over something. Managed to get around the rolls without falling down...only to suddenly fall over to the right. Didnt trip on anything, apparently the Vertigo Fairy decided to finally knock me down. First time I've been knocked off my feet from vertigo.

I was nowhere near anything trip-able. Just all of a sudden I was falling to the right, almost like I was trying to do a cartwheel. I wasnt, but that's the kind of arm movement I had to make to not hurt myself.

Freaked the heck out of me. Since then I've done it again twice, just not as impressively as that first time. That vertigo fairy is a mean old bleep!

That numbness feels like it backed off some from last night. Hope it stays back where it is, and that the Vertigo Fairy will slink off to wherever it came from.

Our remodels are done now, except for a pair of cabinet doors and some handles for the cabinets. I'm going to go take a nap and see if I can sleep off the dizzies.

Default Here I go again.

Feeling more numbness tonight. Left shoulder feels like I can possibly draw a line where the numbness starts. (right where the humerus meets the shoulder joint) It's not all-over numbness down the arm, but there's more numbness in that hand than there was a few days ago.

Right hand has more numbness, but I'm not sure where it starts.

I have numbness in the chest area. (makes wearing a bra, and not wearing a bra really uncomfortable)

I can feel numbness wrapping around my rib cage just below my chest, Goes across the diaphragm too. Feel some numbness around and below the navel too. Feeling some more spasticity around the ribs. Really not happy about that. Last May when I had the Spasticity From Hell, it ended up getting really really painful. I'd rather not go thru that again. It sucked.

Numbness in my toes actually doesnt feel really horrible, but I cant tell if it's gotten worse or better. Sometimes I cant remember what "normal" sensation felt like. I had some spasticity in the back of my calf this morning...while I was climbing up the stairs. Not a good time to have the surprise charley horses hit. Oh...and part of my butt is numb. I really do not like that. Make it go away please!

Oh, and it's 530am and I cant sleep. (I did sleep till 2pm yesterday, so not all that surprising)

Who did I tick off in a previous life (or this one) that I have to get tortured like this on a regular basis. It's starting to really tick me off.

On a non-MS note, the tendonitis I have in my right elbow is kicking up tonight. Elbow hurts, and the shoulder blade on that side feels like someone stabbed me in the back several times, and left the knife there. (more like knives) I'm wondering if the stabbing knife pain is from holding my arm in a weird way because of the weird numbness in the chest area, or the fact that I've been wearing sport bras lately because they dont seem to bother the numb sensation as much as my underwires do. Sport bra puts the support in different places, and doesnt actually support much...sorry...TMI)
