Default How Do You Stay Busy?

What do you do to keep yourself busy during the day. I can't work or drive anymore, my kids are grown and gone. You can only clean so much house, my DH is retired and doesn't like to go anywhere. I don't watch TV much, I do read and walk in the mornings.
I have some partial parylsis (sp) in my right arm and hand. I do a little sewing but I really don't like that anymore. Just wondering anyone who stays home what you might to to stay busy.

Hi Poochie,

Can you volunteer anywhere? My mom never drove and is very limited in her walking, but she volunteers with the Cdn Cancer Society and is also involved with a service group. Sometimes from home, she arranges rides for those who need to get to their cancer treatments or doctors appointments out of town. For awhile, she was in charge of sending birthday cards out. Most of the members/volunteers are retired and very willing to give rides to others. When my dad still drove, although her never went with her to these places, he would give her a ride there and pick her up when needed.

My husband doesn't like to do much outside of work and watching TV, so I've hooked up with a friend to go out to movies, shopping, dinner. We joke that we're dating now.

C

Default on being busy

[ Hi Poochie, gosh small towns are great. Are you interested in anything in the creative arts? I know that even small towns have thrift shops. I do mosaics out of discarded things, cups, plates, etc. It has really been fun. I read like you do also. I am lucky I guess to live in a tourist community, so things are busy in my direction in fla. I don't eat out often, but enjoy being outdoors just for the nature when I can. A new hobby could be fun when enjoyed with a friend too.
