I'm now Bipolar as well...manic times and depressed times. Extremes with both problems.
But what got me up and about again was Seroquel XR. I had become a couch potato. BUT... what amazed me were problems that I though had come about over the yearS as MS problems... were caused by depression. I have been on Wellbutrin for yearS. I cannot speak highly enough about adding Seroquel XR. I would have benefited from Seroquel XR from the day that I was diagnosed. Last edited by 0357; 12-13-2010 at 10:46 PM. Reason: Wording |

Thanks 0357.. It's great that you've found a med that helps you so much.
![]() I have another friend who is Bipolar also and I will recommend this med for her to investigate. This person has had difficulties with other BP meds making her zombie like. This one sounds diff?

Seroquel XR's commercials now say it's for someone with deep depression or some similar wording. They no longer mention that the person need to be Bipolar. I found I didn't have the organization to do much but watch TV. On Seroquel eXtended Relief I sleep at Night ![]() Years later I had racing thoughts and periods of not sleeping. I know you know the signs of being Bipolar Sally, but my MS Specialist's nurse says she sees many MS patients turn Bipolar. She did go on to say there is no study to prove this. I would have NEVER attributed my depressive symptoms, lifted immediately by Seroquel XR, as such. I'm back in the kitchen cooking; something I thought changed over a decade ago due to my MS. I'm enjoying life again. I feel like a 18 year old just graduating and ready to take the world head on. I still must pace myself, but I have a totally different outlook. They say to add Seroquel XR with an antidepressant you are currently taking. I would tell your friend of my positive experience with this medication Sally. IMO, it too should be prescribed to MS patients who have depression for I feel they would be pleasantly surprised how it improves their life. I used to take Klonopin to help me sleep due to my MS. I'm now completely off this drug and just sleeping like a baby on Seroquel XR at night. Seroquel XR does not make me feel sleepy or dopey the next day. Instead, I'm ready and willing to take on projects (within reason). Last edited by 0357; 12-14-2010 at 08:38 AM. Reason: Wording |

Oh, and to my knowledge she hasn't been dxd bipolar, but her family does have issues with "nerves." Does anyone notice a difference in mood when listening to the right music? My radio is set for Christmas music to keep me in the spirit! Best wishes to the room. ![]()

Ok bipolar isn't depression, and Prozac is awesome for depression if it works on you. Effect I found to be like a contact high.
twinkle t - of course music effects mood. Sinatra with dinner, Vocal trance during the day playing around house, more aggressive types for workout and what you said for wrapping/giving gifts ![]() |

I take a low dose of Lexapro in the morning for this and it keeps me fairly level and able to work. I take a very small dose of Trazodone at bedtime as well (25 mg.)
Those along with 100-200mg of Nuvigil keep me going and keep my mood pretty stable, in spite of the MS. My MS neuro told me years ago that the damage done by MS is very commonly bringing on depression symptoms for patients with MS.
