Default Just got a call from my neuro

The current one, not the one he was sending me to for a second opinion.

I told him that I went to my regular doctor yesterday and that I have a UTI...and that I may have had it for awhile, but since my stomach and the area that the UTI is in are both numb, that I might not have been feeling it. (I couldnt produce enough for them to get a culture of it, so they're not sure what specific bacteria I'm colonized with)

The neuro said "that'll do it". He told me that if I've had a UTI for awhile, that it's possible that explains the whole problem that I've had for a few months. I really did not realize I had a UTI. I didnt really feel it till after I took that first macrobid last night. As soon as the macrobid started working it's magic, THEN I could tell there was a disturbance in the force in that area. Explains why I've felt really sick for the past few months.

Physically, I feel better than I have for awhile this morning (except for the stomach ache from the macrobid)

MS-wise, I'm still wobbly, right leg is still draggy and my whole body feels off balance. The neuro said that if I've had a UTI for awhile, that it might take awhile for the MS symptoms to clear up (if they actually will. I never expect anything to get better. That way I dont get disappointed)

He thought that once the infection clears up that I might go back to what was normal for me before the UTI. I hope he's right about that. But, I'm going to just expect that I'll have residual effects.

He was thrilled to hear that I scored a Rx for physical therapy. Said that'll really help things. (plus it'll get me to exercise)

My regular doctor yesterday was really pushing the exercise so as soon as the subject of physical therapy came up, and I told him I really wanted it, he went and grabbed the physical therapy Rx pad and had it written out in seconds. Told me to go as often as insurance will let me. Said if I wanted more once I'm done with this round of PT, said to call and he'd be happy to give me some more PT.

I'm going to go take a nap. I got up at 5am to take a macrobid. I'm sleepy. I've got an alarm set up on my phone to remind me every 12hrs to take a macrobid.

I just hope I get rid of the wobbly walking. It's driving me nuts. I can barely get thru my house.
