I also have a quad cane among my collection of aids. I admit I don't use it as much as I should, and tend to use my straight cane almost all the time. I do bring it out on a bad day though, and will use the quad before resorting to my rollator. Although this detachable end looks handy, I doubt I would trade my quad for it especially after having tried the quad. For me, it doesn't look stable enough.
At least it's not expensive Kitty so maybe it would be worth trying. I find having a variety of aids has helped to keep me upright.

The tripod tip can flex if you lean. This can lead to a loss of stability which is bad, but much worse if you are not prepared for it since you believe the cane will prevent it. I don't see much use for the tip, it would probably add work to your walking with the cane, more resistance to moving it. A lot like the difference between walking on carpet or tile. Carpet takes a lot more work just picking your feet up while walking.
