Dej, I really like that one! I like the color.
I wish I had the space to store a bike, I'd get one. I bet my dad would like one. I just dont know where I'd keep one that it wouldnt get stolen. Our garage has a minivan, a small SUV and my mom's electric scooter in it. There's no room. We have a glassed in patio room, but there's no lock, anyone could go in there and take off with it. (plus, I dont think I could get a trike thru the door)

I'd love to see her out there SallyC. Nothing in the world is more inspiring to me when I ride than to see somebody who I know is having a harder time than I am still slugging it out and getting it done. I tell myself if they can do it and keep going, then I have no excuse whatsoever not to keep going myself. When I see the Wounded Warrior Project riders who have lost legs or who were paralyzed by injuries out there riding hand cranked bicycles, I always slow down and thank them for their service and let them know that they are my heroes.

wow! Dejibo is going to be a biker chik! and... I notice it has a really big basket Dej so when you are "feeling your oats" you can ride it to the local grocery store or to the pharma to pick things up
Now that would be some exercise!

I have been like a little kid all day. I really miss getting out there, but I am not safe on my bike. I have an expensive mountain bike that I paid way too much money for, and then only got a year out of it. I kept falling and couldnt figure it out. That led to the anxiety and the over corrections. What I really miss is my motor cycle, but I would really not be safe on that thing anymore.
I thought I was going to have to settle for the blue one. I was ok with the red one, but thrilled to bits with purple! Big ol basket for Jack the cat. I will have to get a nice lock for it, since things disappear round this town. Wahoo! im gonna be back on the streets! perhaps I will ride in the MS bike thing coming up. ding ding ding! I need a bell now.

I did the same thing with my old bike. My dad gave it to me for my birthday/high school graduation. (got the bike in 1989) I only used it for less than a year. But, that wasnt because of the MS, it's because I was a little disappointed that I didnt get a cheap, crappy car. Instead I got a nice, brand new bike. (cost $400!)
It's not like the bike went to waste tho. My dad loved riding it, even if it was a "girls" bike. We just werent in a part of town that was bicycle friendly when I got that bike. My uncle snapped the kickstand off of it right after I got it, he sat on the bike and the kickstand snapped in half from the weight. My dad got shot while riding the bike once. (kids with a paintball gun shot him as they drove past him. He thought he was really shot for a few minutes. This is one of the reasons our old neighborhood wasnt bike friendly) By the time we moved to an area that was more bike friendly, I was having problems with my balance, just had no idea it was MS causing it. Now I kind of wish I had one of these trikes. Just no where for me to put it where it either wouldnt get stolen, or where the neighbors wont kvetch about it being locked up outside all the time. Dej, now you need to get some purple and pink tassels for the handlebars, a bell, a handlebar flashlight, and some of those red blinkers to put on the spokes of the wheels. I was going to suggest some racing decals that look like flames for the frame of the bike, but thought that would be a bit much.

I am going to order a seat with a back on it. A small motor to help me go up hill. There is a nasty hill that stands between me and getting back home after going down town here, unless I want to go far down a dirt road. I have an LED light for my current one, and a gel wide bottom seat. Tassles! what a great idea! I will need reflectors and maybe a handicap sign for the back of the basket or a traffic triangle so folks wont try to bump me. Im so happy to have this thing coming! I am not worried about tight turns, as we live out in the woods and things are straight to it style roads.
What else would you get for it?

satellite radio, or at least a radio in the basket. (no headphones, headphones are illegal to wear when operating a vehicle in some states)
how about an air horn? (yes, I know I'm a bit ridiculous in the suggestions)
