Default I'm a newbie and in limbo on ms dx

Hey everyone! I am 28yrs old and I'm a mother of 2 boys. They are 13 and 6. I'm currently in the process of trying to get a dx. I have a lot of the sx for ms. Most days I am in pain but I try to push past it and take care of my boys. I have had sx for the last 10yrs but had no idea they were all connected.

Welcome Lilmama.. Nice to meet you.

Are you seeing a Neurologist for your MS DX? One that knows a
lot about MS, would be preferable.

Take a deep breath, stay calm and keep us posted as to how it's
going for you.

Yes, I am seeing a Neurologist. I'm not sure how much he knows about MS. I am actually seeing him tomorrow afternoon. He is my second neuro. The first one that I had seen ended up being a resident doctor which he had to approve everything with the doctor over him. I really liked him and he listened but it was the doctor over him that was not willing to approve for me to have an LP which I feel I really need at this point.

Thanks for your reply.

Welcome to NeuroTalk, Lilmama.

I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Getting an MS diagnosis can be time consuming and frustrating.

Keep us posted on how things are going for you.

hi lilmama,

i'm glad you found us. have you had the usual mri's?
what did your clinical neuro exam show? i was dx'd with that first.
then i had the LP and the dx was clinched.

it can take a while to get a dx. try to take one thing, test, etc at a time.
even tho the waiting is tedious and difficult.

let us know how you are.
