I started with a quarter mile. I would walk a level part of the street and back. Then I edged it up to a half mile and finally the mile. I have been doing the full mile walk for a while now. DH said he would take me with him on his walk, but once we start, we cant circle back so it is a full 3 miles to get around the way he goes. I went on my bike twice, and felt comfy with the level road and that its a quiet rarely traveled road. I did the walk a couple of times and was really winded. I kept at it and DH decided that since I was doing so well, he would take that MDs advice and get me back out there.
Please take it slow, but push past that part after a week. even if you just add one more step. its amazing what it does for your self esteem. im tired, but im feeling so much better. I had to do something. My vision is so bad that I simply cant read, or watch TV or enjoy video games anymore, so i needed to get outside while the weather will let me here. Winters get rough round here. Im so proud of you! :hug: |
