Unhappy A Bad MS Day.

Sunday is usually my bestest most funnest day, but after I had my usual fun part with the Grands, then DD accompanied me to the basement and had to help me the whole way this time. I had little strength and little coordination.

It was time to change the filter on the furnace. A job I have been able to do on my own, until yesterday. I have lost a little strength in the past month.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the D3 and Methyl B12 I started taking? What are the adverse side effects of these Vitamins? Could I be taking too much or possibly I am allergic? What do you experts think?

After I made it upstairs from the basement, I cried, as I grieved for another loss knowing that this may have been my last trip down those stairs. In the old days I took them 2 at a time up and down, 3 or 4 times a day.

I just feel so down about this. May I ask you to pray with me that this is only Temporary and that I may get back the recent strength I've lost, so that I may remain as independent as possible.

Thanks

oh sally, i'm sorry this episode happened.

i don't know what methyl B12 is. you might consider stopping 1 to see if it makes a difference for you. if it does you'll know the other is ok. if not then stop the other.

if this con'ts another few days to a wk i'd call your dr. since it's such a change i think it warrants a phone call.

i'm sending healing prayers your way.

Sally, it's probably not permanent. I experienced the same thing but it was at DS's girlfriend's house! I could hardly make the three steps from the garage to the inside of the kitchen! I nearly fell after the first step! Freaked me out but the next time I had to maneuver stairs it was much easier. Apparently it was just that day that my legs decided to be uncooperative.

I've learned not to panic when I can't do something I've previously been able to do fairly easily. 9 times out of 10 it's just that particular day. I was either experiencing something like allergies or possibly just a mild flare up of sx. I bet the next time you try the stairs they'll be easier to manage.

Just promise me one thing. That you won't try them unless someone is there with you. Deal?

Sally, I'm praying for you I take 8000 iu's (drops) of vit d on a daily basis and get 1ml inj of b12 every month. Since I've been doing them...b12 just over 2 years and the 8000 iu's of vit d for just over 1 year, I feel soooo much better. Maybe this is just a flare and will get better very soon. I'm feeling a bit worse lately but I think the weather is getting to me. I hope you feel better soon...take it easy.

Sally, the D3 and B12 will help you. If it were me I wouldn't stop taking them. Have you called Dr. S? He might have a suggestion.

Second this. B12 should be giving you energy, not sapping you.

I'll be praying for you, too, Sally. I agree with the others that it's usually just temporary if it even IS MS-related.
