Default Which is it, MS or CFS (ME)

Hi there,
I've suffered from chronic pain in my lower back and legs for some 18 years now. However over the last couple of years I've started to get other symptoms. It started with my legs and arms shaking and then at rest my lower torso would twitch and my legs would jump. More recently however I've had a burning and numbness on the right side of my face (around the cheek and eye) I have even had loss of vision in half of my right eye once. I get a wierd sensation on the back of my head (feels like something crawling inside my head). I have tremors inside my body, which started off where people couldn't see them but now they've developed and my OH can see me shaking. I regularly lose my balance and have to grab something to stop me falling. I have severe pain in legs and arms which is a combination of the sharp burning and also the dull bone deep sensation. I've been getting the bone deep pain in the tips of both of my hips and my lower ribs. I can't concentrate, find myself day dreaming and my memory has become rubbish. I get cold sensation in my feet when driving, my heels get painful also if I rest them directly on the floor. I've seen my GP who's actually spent quite a bit of time looking at my history and yesterday he told me that he's pretty sure that it's MS ( i was relieved to have a diagnosis at last). However I also had an appointment with a neurologist yesterday and he seems to think possible CFS. The neuro guy didn't look at my pain logs that I'd done for the last 6 weeks. It was a case of this and that and then he ordered 18 blood tests and an MRI and said he'll see me in 6 months. He prescribed propranolol to combat the tremors and that was it.
I was really shaking and twitching whilst in with neuro, as if I get worried or stressed the twitching really kicks off. I'm sort of in Limbo now as I've got two seperate diagnosis. Could one be mistaken for another and wil the MRI and blood tests give any indication?

Steve

Default 2nd opinion

I would go see a different neurologist and get a 2nd opinion & switch neuro's. I'll see you in 6 months doesn't sound 2 good. I saw my neuro 4 times before my dx. MRI alone does not exclude ms. I know you just want a definitive diagnosis. Hang in there and be vigilant in seeking the best healthcare practioners.
