Default PPMS - does it ever level off after years of progression?

Does anyone know if PPMS ever stops progressing at some point in time?

Do people with PPMS always end up bedridden? Have an H with PPMS since 1995. In a WC now, but still has upper body mobility.

thanks.

I was diagnosed with PPMS in 2002, but looking back now see it started sooner, @1994.

2 years ago I went from walker to chair. Pain is a minimal, although physically slow, cognitive seems. Think I had plateaued for years, then bad legs, bad one arm, no idea what will happen next. Will a bus hit me or PPMS? I do nap, but fatigue not overwhelming.

Thanks for your response Kicker.

H was dx about the same time as you, but had sx starting in 1995. He was walking without aids until 2005, then two canes in 2007, then into a chair last year. His arms and hands are still ok,for now. Takes a small amoutn of baclofen, but nothing else, except tylenol once in a while.

I wish there was some way of knowing how much worse things will get, but no one seems to know.
