hi all ...
did my arm workout ... and continually adding more moves with the weights ... and now- just holding out both arms holding the weights and counting to 10, rest, back up - count to 10 ... and do that 10 times ... and I'm beginning to feel changes ... and my arms (even my hands) are feeling better ... I have mild CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome) ... but, I bet EVERYONE has it .. not doing surgery, yet anyways ... hopefully, the workouts will help! |
I worked out on the Wii yesterday for about 25 minutes.
Today I went to the fitness center. Worked on a stationary bike for 20 minutes and then 25 minutes on weight machines. Feels great!!:D |
Walked my 30 this morning, 20 toning, and then it was a downpour with thunderstorm warnings this evening... which meant 30 minutes on "We Cheer 2" instead today! I was sweating horribly after that work out, I definitely made up for the lack of a walk tonight! :)
|
Hey, I can actually wiggle the toes on my left foot tonight. WooHoo.:D
|
Do you put toe weights on them, Sal? ;-)
I worked on the Wii for about 45 min. Today...totally overdid it. I was soaked afterwards... |
walked about 50 mins to breakfast place today, and after we ate I walked back to the B&B. I got over heated, upset my tummy and ended up with dire rear for my tour of Ben and Jerrys factory. Saw the Cabot cheese annex, and then we simply headed home. got home and crashed. still need a nap.
|
Awesome job everyone's doing! I'm impressed. Even SALLY wiggled her toes! 25 pool laps for me today, yesterday made 1,200 for 2011.
|
made it back to the gym today. Did .43 of a mile in about 22mins before I got tired.
My knee still hurts. My aunt thinks I hurt it when I went swimming a couple weekends ago. What really bugs it is keeping my knee bent when I'm sitting down, or sleeping. At least treadmill walking hasnt seemed to hurt it. |
Walked 30 min this morning, 20 minutes toning, then 5km tonight to make up for not being able to walk last night due to poor weather.
Now I'm beat! Time for bed. |
Slept till 8:30! got up took a short walk, and wandered home. Starting my juice diet today. this should help my tender tummy.
|
One hour of spin class last night. Felt good to get back after skipping a few days, but wow was I tired this morning.
|
went to Costco this morning. Walked around with my parents shopping. That counts as exercise, doesnt it?
Picked up my new glasses this afternoon, and now I'm a little off balance from getting used to the new prescription, so I'm probably not going to the gym to walk tonight. (reading my Kindle while trying to get used to new glasses and walking at the same time, might not be a good idea) |
Well, I had a chemically induced stress test and got my heart rte up to 147 bpm... Does that count?
|
Depends Deb heh. 30 laps today, 50 laps yesterday. 14x28 pool.
|
30 min walk, 20 toning, 30 min on the Wii doing the exercise routines in "We Cheer 2" (U2 concert here tomorrow - will be massive, 100,000 ppl estimated - lots of motor accidents/DUIs - I stayed indoors where it's safe tonight!).
Will walk tomorrow 30 min and 20 min of toning... then tomorrow evening is my easy night. Talk with Mom on the phone. :) |
45 mins of hard walking today. sweating to beat the band. its humid here. I forgot my cool ware neck thing, and we had no water on us. Whew! I needed a drink when we got home. I juiced up a nice morning blend.

Take it easier on yourself. You make me hurt just reading about it..:D:p:D |
Aww thanks Sally! I am actually going kinda easy. I am avoiding rabbit hollow. I cancelled my horse back riding, and I am not doing anything in the heat. My juice diet, and other interventions are helping nicely with the ON, and I am trying to keep my own spirits up. While I just got away from this place, it hit me upon return how much I want to move. I normally walk at least an hour and do hills and such. I didnt realize how hot I was till i was almost home. I have spent the day surfing the net, juicing, answering back emails, playing on facebook, and playing with the cats. its all good.
|
just got back from the gym.
Did the treadmill for 20 mins. Did .40 of a mile, so I'm nearly up to the half mile mark again. Too hot here to try to make it that far. I'm good now for about 20 minutes and then I want to go home. At least I'm doing something. I woke up this morning to tingly legs. (havent had that for a few months) Little annoyed at that. The tingles were a little worse after walking, but it's been about 20mins since I got home, so I'm cooled down now. Kind of hoping to get myself up to doing more than a half mile or a full mile eventually. Think I'm going to have to wait till the weather gets cooler. |
I did ALOT of laundry, and scrubbing today. does that count? I didnt walk cause we left at the crack of insanity, but will make up for it tomorrow. maybe a 3 mile walk? depends on the weather.
|
36 laps yesterday, 34 today = easier to total. Push Push Push.
|
Darn, this is not a good sign. I had written up a whole response to this thread, and I guess I completely closed out the window forgetting to post!
Was going well today, walked a lot, groceries, chores, spray foamed my air conditioner, since I seem to have a slight hornet problem since the new unit was put in (I hope to have fixed the issue, fingers crossed!). Was going well until I smacked the top of my head off a wooden-frame painting (large, the whole painting, including canvas, is wood). I was left about 3 hours completely dopey/dazed, was rather concerned about my well being. Bringing laundry up from the dryer, horrible. Thank goodness it was leftovers night. I don't know if I'd have mustered the energy to cook anything big. Did my toning exercises anyways, then after eating felt a bit better, went for a 30 min walk and felt lots better. So lots of walking today, lots of chores, and I'm a complete klutz. |

If you hit it really really hard tho, you might want to go see your doctor and get checked out. Head injuries are nothing to screw around with. (says the girl who's mom had a brain concussion 50+yrs ago, and has also personally had at least 3 concussions herself) |
agreed! if you smacked your noggin, you may want to be checked out.
no walking today. its VERY humid here, but I have a ton of errands. House cleaning, shopping...the boy is here so that adds to the running around factor. |
Erin, I was bent over picking something off the floor. I grabbed it, and straightened up, and on the up smacked my head on the frame (bottom) of the painting.
The painting juts out from the wall a bit (it's box-like, hard to describe, but imagine about a 2x2 width board that runs all the way around the painting to form the frame), so the painting isn't flush to the wall and therefore coming up from bending down (as I was right against the wall behind the couch that I had moved out at 1 end) I smacked the left side of the top of my head along the middle bottom of this painting. No bump today, no tenderness, but I will mention it to the doctor when I see her again. In the meantime, I'll keep it in the back of my mind that I did that (smacked my head) just in case anything odd comes up otherwise. Today's walking day.... about to head back out in fact, was out for a bit already. :) Thanks for your concern ladies! :grouphug: |
@dmplaura Hope your head bump was just a glancing blow and not anything damaging. I walked into the kitchen counter the other day, right into the corner of it, and pretty much stabbed myself in the stomach with the corner. (didnt cut the skin) but it hurt like crazy, and I have a big bruise there now. I really miss being able to walk a straight line without bouncing off walls and countertops.
It's 3pm right now, and I'm still in my jammies, and not really planning on doing anything today. I probably NEED to go to the gym and walk for 20 minutes to get all my muscles in my legs loosened up. (technically, my jammies are my workout clothes. They're cut-off-into-shorts sweat pants and whatever t-shirt I was wearing yesterday. All I need is to add my bra to the ensemble and shoes and I can go to the gym) Last couple of times I went to stand up to go do something today, I have to stand there and let all the muscles slowly let me move. Cant even stand up straight right away. I have to let everything slowly decide that it wants to/can move. I just feel so incredibly tired right now, that I dont really want to do much. I think it has something to do with the heat today (96 deg or more today) But, I havent been outside yet today. I also havent eaten yet today, so that might be part of why I feel tired and drained. Hopefully I'll feel like going to the gym in a little while. Not sure if I want to take a shower first, or wait till I get back from the gym if I go. (I dont do enough to need to take a shower when I'm done exercising) |
I started an August 2011 thread, so come on over and keep telling me your ups and downs with exercise over there!
