 Kelly . I had a big relapse after I had MAJOR surgery done on my feet. It was a totally different situation than yours though. It was the.most painful thing I've ever had besides having kids! I HAD to walk on my feet the day after the surgery in order for them to heal properly. Not fun.

I think you'll be just fine as long as you follow your doctor's advice.:hug:

Thanks, J. The doctor said it would be minor and as long as I went pee-pee I could go home the same day. Don't you know I won't be able to since I now know that's the deciding factor! Oh well, not going to stress over it. I either will or I won't.

I did place a call to my Neuro this morning to let him know I was having surgery and to see if there was anything I needed to know from his perspective. I just wanted to keep him in the loop and up to date on what's going on so he could update my medical records.

I still don't know when I'll have this surgery but I'm actually looking forward to it. Can't wait to feel better! :)

Kelly, is that your kitty in ur avatar picture? Soooooo adorable.:)

Sally, its my friends little kitty. I think he's adorable. She's helping me to catch and spay/neuter all the kitties that have decided that my patio is their home. With the help of her amazing hubby they care for a feral colony of 40 cats. It's just amazing what they do.

Surgery is planned for the 22nd of November. I just realized that is my parents wedding anniversary! :)

And Thanksgiving!!!

Kitty 11-03-2011 06:02 PM

I purposely planned it for the week of Thanksgiving so my kids would have some time off if I needed help with something.

Just spoke with DS24 and he is taking that whole week off so he can help. DS28 has Thursday and Friday off already and he is taking Tuesday off, too. I don't know what I would do without those two. :circlelove:

You are so blessed with your boys.

Will you be home for TG or still in hospital?

Kitty 11-06-2011 09:39 AM

I'll be home, Sally. If I have to stay it should just be overnight.

DS28 said yesterday that they (meaning he and his brother) would take care of Thanksgiving. Said we might have BBQ or Chinese food but we'd have something! :D

Last time I had surgery (way back in 1986) I lost my appetite for weeks. I can only hope that will happen again! :o

I had a robotic assisted myomectomy in 2009 and did not have a relapse. I had to stay in the hospital overnight and was on a morphine drip for a few hours. The next day I was up and walking and even took a shower before I left the hospital.

Surgery makes anyone tired but I was especially tired afterwards. I was off work for three weeks - doc said I could go back in two weeks but I knew what would happen if I went back so soon so he said because of my MS and hectic workload he'd keep me out for three weeks. ;)

Someone else mentioned being careful what you lift. I was told nothing heavier than a gallon milk jug for the first month as well. Trust me if you try to lift anything heavier you will know it immediately.

So glad you have family there that will take care of you as you are healing.
