Didn't sleep very well last night. Usually I'm sound asleep at this time of morning. This not being able to get up to go potty is not funny. Has anyone used the poise super absorbant pads? And do you wear regular underpants with them or special ones? this piddling on a doggy pad is not getting it.

Hellllllp!!!:grouphug:

Awww, Sally, I'm so sorry! Is there any way you can stay with dd until your leg heals up or have someone stay with you? I wish I could be there to help! I think with any of the pad type incontinence things you wear regular underwear :hug:

Thanks Jody, DD will stop on the way to work to get me started and on the way home to finish me off :D. She's bringing some heavy duty poise pads and a large pr of underpants..:o

Are we having fun yet? NO!!!

Sally, you can wear your own underwear, but the larger pad would make them very buly and leakage could end up staining what you have,

Here in Oz you can get stretch panties to go over the pads. The panties are machine washable but if they get too soiled, you simply toss them out. Not sure how many you get in a pack, about 10 I guess.

Here's a picture of this particular type, but there are lots more available you could look at.

Have you contacted your doc to see if you're eligible for some kind of home health care?

Yes, his nurse is going to talk with him and they will call me. My Doc isn't in today:)

I don't know where you live, but I would call Senior Citizens in your area and see if there is medical transportation there available , In our area we are fortunate to have ETHRA ( East Tennessee Human Resourse Agency that will arrange transportation plus since my hubby is bedfast, he qualifies for ambulance transport to medical apts. It would be a start for sure, even some churches offer transport volenteers. Hope this helps. Good luck , getting to places can be hugh hassle.

Can your DD get you a bedside commode? Would you be able to hop over to it? I hate the fact that you're having this trouble, and I don't think you should be alone...I hope your doc or DD can find some help for you, sweetie.

And there are pants that you can buy to put a pad in that are somewhat waterproof...but you can always have DD get some Depends until you're up and about. That would be more comfortable than pads...

Take care, and know that our prayers are with you for a speedy healing of your leg...:grouphug:
