BBS, good to see you

Yesterday, I walked to PT because I missed the bus. I had an hour of PT including 10 minutes of bike riding w resistance. I walked home. Then the cat was missing, so, while still daylight I walked the loop that makes up my street of 75+ houses.

So far, I am Ok this morning. Oh, and cat came home very hungry.

I'd love to start some sort of exercise routine. I tried the elliptical......couldn't do that for more than 3 minutes without my legs becoming like jello. Same thing with the treadmill. About five minutes is all I can manage without my legs becoming very weak. So weak that I can't support myself. I'm wondering if an exercise bike might be the ticket. Something I can do while sitting down. I hate to invest more money into something that I can't use but I need to do something. It has to be something I can do at home since I don't drive and have no way to go anywhere. Any advice?

I took a 60 minute spin class this morning before class and today I wasn't the only person over 20 years old in the room, lol.

If I don't work out at least 5 times a week I get depressed and am blessed at this point to be able to do it. I usually take 3 spin classes and do 30 minutes on the elliptical at the Y the other two days.

It breaks my heart to read about people who were physically active and can't exercise now because of MS. I am thankful for every day I have while I still can.

Whoo! husband was in full on instructor mode. We dragged out my white cane with its rollar ball tip and off we went. We explored our street, and then he turned off down the right of way! ice covered, bumpy and treacherous, but we made it! it led to a snow laiden street that had been cleared and was a quiet peaceful place to walk. I could hear the cracking of the lake ice. I could hear the ice fishermen setting up for the day, and I got to meet a new dog neighbor who was just adopted yesterday. His name is Chevy and he is a full sized Schnauzer. We had a mini one, and I must miss her so much. very sweet doggie.

Swept the lake, and kept around til we reached the horse farm. The goats came over, the horses came over and I got to pet them thru the fence. We wandered home. It ended up being 3 miles, but it was one of our best walks ever. We were considerate of each others steps, the noise around us, and we slowed down to soak it in instead of flying past it chattering away about BS to each other.

Im quite tired now, think I will nap.

Spent November and December dealing with moving my aunt into new digs and helping my mom to heal after she fell and broke both legs right before Halloween. Spent the first half of January recovering from all that, and since then it has been back on the bike.

Did three rides totalling 81 miles in January, and I am trying to make at least 2 spin classes a week, but it has been hard while trading out nights visiting mom with my sister.
