Hi, I had been suffering horrible headaches and eye pain for a few years so i went to the ER and the told me i need an MRI so i got back the results of my MRI and met with a neuro and im at a lose of words! i will briefly explain: Findings: Multiple primarily juxtacortical FLAIR and T2 white matter are found. A prominent left parietal is noted measuring 13mm, A prominent right frontal is noted measuring 11m. Total lesion count exceeds 30 in both hemispheres.....the rest is basic and normal. Impression: Moderate nonspecific white matter disease possibly caused by multiple sclerosis. No white matter disease enhancement to suggest demyelination......The neurologist told me she dont think its ms and not to worry to much about the lesions and to see my primary care doctor.....help

Hi, and welcome. Hang in there!! There are folks here who will be able to explain some of that information, or at least point you in the right direction.

is there an MS center near you? I highly reccomend that you seek one out. They are the pro's when it comes to sorting out one disease versus another. Even if you only see them for a diagnosis or a rule out.
Hang in there. ![]()

i agree with trying to find an MS specialist dr.
get a copy of the mri disc so you can take it to any other dr you see. start to keep a sx (symptom) journal. date and what sx's you have. that will also be helpful. i assume you are still having your sx's so i would keep pursuing this with your dr. i'd start with your pcp. he may be able to do some testing to rule out other illnesses and you'd have that info to take to the specialist. keep being a good advocate for yourself to find the answers you need. keep us posted.

I've had a similar experience. Diagnosed with Fibomyalgia for 15 yrs. Two yrs ago had a real bad flare of some sort after a prolonged period of phyisical and emotional stressors. Worse headaches than usual, flashes in eyesight, frozen limbs with pins and needles, limbs falling asleep, lips and tongue "fuzzy" feeling, wierd anxiety, muscle pain and weakness, fatigue, insomnia...the list goes on. My pcp doesnt believe this is fibro, so he refers me to a neurologist. The contrast mri shwed multiple white spots on my brain and a sinus infection. The neurologist told me the spots were nothing to worry abt and she didnt think I have M.S. sent me back to my pcp. Many blood test were done, they found inflammation and hypothyroidism (i was already being treated for and levels ok). That was early into my "flare" and over two yrs ago. My condition has slowly progressed over that time. I now have a full time elecfric tremor through my entire body, fallen down my stairs (due to worsening coordination and balance) and broken three toes in the process. I still worry that this isnt fibromyalgia. I feel for you.

Bobbie: I would insist on a spinal tap to rule out MS. This really sounds like MS. If treated properly, these symptoms would not be as bad. Good luck!
