Default Possible dieatry lectin connection to MS

Very interesting video presentation on dietary factors in the development, progression and possible treatment of MS.

its very long. I am watching it bite by bite. it is fascinating to hear this mans point of view. I disagree with some of it, but agree with other parts.

Thank you for bringing it here, I love this kinda stuff.

Yeah, I hear you. While there may be a connection for some, for others it may be just another wild goose chase.

I maintain a variation of this dietary program due to regional enteritis and it does seem to help, but I still feel that the restriction of starch (grain/potatoes) and dairy products has more to do with moderating a fermentative gut and it is that which decreses intestinal inflammation.
I can't say how much the MS has been affected by the dietary restrictions; as there have been relapses even with the dietary restrictions.

In all fairness though, I do eat tomatoes and tomato products from time to time, which apparently is a nasty element in the lectin-inflammation theory, but this does not cause digestive problems; at least for me. Due to that observation, I am assuming that it also doesn't have an influence on my MS.
For example, I haven't eaten tomatoes or tomato products for months and have been experiencing a protracted increase in symptoms during that time. Time will tell if consuming tomatoes makes things worse or not, as there are 7promising tomato plants in my garden at the moment and I will be indulging as I have every year in those tasty beauties.

It is worth mentioning that I do know some individuals who have obtained relief of inflammation (arthritis, colitis, IBS) while on diets that restrict grain and dairy; but not so long ago it was thought that the problem was Candida (fungus) mediated and the dietary restriction supposedly decreases that.

Just thought that I'd post the link as one more potential if others choose to try it for themselves.

I could just never give up milk. not in a million years. I could skip it for a week or two, but to erase it from my diet. NEVAH!
