:p :p :p :p My version of a rasberry |
Hi Everyone,
I was diagnossed In October of 2004 after having a very hard time the last time I was In Iraq. I kept a good diary and along with my previous medical records I got a diagnosis very quick. Sometimes I wondered If It was worth keeping a diary, but I found out that It was well worth my time. My wife of 18 1/2 years decided that she wanted another man and so she filed for a divorce In March of this year. I have a son 18 years old and he Is a Senior In High School. He has been one of my biggest Inspirations In my life. He has Autism, ADD and mentally retarded. When he was 3 or 4 the doctors told us that he would never live to see his teenage years. He proved them all wrong. He wakes up every day with a smile, and goes to bed with a smile. Always happy. I have a daughter 14 years old. She Is a Freshman In High School this year. She Is very smart and way over protective of her brother. I spent 20 years 11 months In the U.S. Army. I've been around the world a few times, and I've lived many different places In my life. My father was In the Army so I also got to do a lot of traveling while I was young. |
Hi James, Welcome! Sorry about your MS DX and the breakup of your marriage. Life really sucks gravel, sometimes.
I'm so glad that you have been blessed with two wonderful Kids. That makes it all worth it, huh? Will they be staying with you? I hope you find your time here both informative and supportive. We are here for you as you are for us.:) |
My wife has custody of the children. I get to see them when ever I want. They usually stay with me more than they stay with her.
|
Hello James.
Glad You joined us. I think we have *met* on another board but I could be wrong:) |
Bumping for any new people who want to chime in.:D

Hi to all! I am spoons and also came from another forum. I have PPMS, was dxd when I was 42 in one day! Today is my 57th BD. I have been married for 28 years (yikes!), have 2 stepchildren, a step-grandaughter and a step- grandson.
I currently only take Celexa and Klonopin. I will be making a decision shortly on whether to get a Bacflofen pump (second time Neuro suggested it). I'm scared to death to have it done! He seems to think it will make me more mobile. Right now, I am wheelchair bound. Forgot to mention I have a rescued Bichon Frise; his name is Scooter and he never leaves my side. Glad I was referred here, seems like a great place! spoons |
|
Thanks, Sally. Glad to be here - and thanks for the BD wishes!

Spoons, hi girl! You are the same age as Gigi, minus one day.
Happy birthday again! Nice to see you here too. Huggs, Pat |
Thanks, Pat! See 'ya around :D :D :D
Hugs, spoons |
Hi, bnz here from OBT. After reading the post here I felt I needed to join, seems like a friendly bunch. I was diagnosed in April 2004, was on betaseron for a short time and on copaxone ever since. Thanks for the welcome Sally.
bnz2 |
Hi Bnz2, This is a nice group of PWMS and so glad you found us. We are a bit diff than OBT. Here everything is open.

Hello to BrainTalk's MS community!
I had my first sx in the ninth grade, my first exacerbation in my mid-twenties, was finally correctly dxd rrms twenty-five years later during my second exacerbation. For tx, I use C and LDN. I consider stress my big enemy. When I was first dxd, I made a commitment to myself to de-stress my life to the max. I've had the luxury of being able to do this. Currently, my MS is taking a mild course and my lesions are "shrinking". One of my neuros explained that my lesions are in a huge mass within my left frontal cortex. If I weren't ambidextrous, I would have lost the ability to use language. Being ambidextrous feels like I was given an extraordinary gift. So, I figure the least I can do is to "calm" my MS in any and every way I can. Glad to be here! BTW, is this BrainTalk 2? Zia |

This was known as BT2 initially but Doc John had decided to change the name when the original BT was up and running again. Doc John let us (the members) vote on the name we wanted and NeuroTalk was the most popular. NeuroTalk and Braintalk are not run by the same person and are not affiiated. |
Hey Rashelle and Zia :)

Hi Zia, Welcome to Neurotalk.:)
|
Yel-low!
I'm not a newbie ... but it's been a while since I've posted. There's a new member that threatened me with bodily harm if I didn't participate here. I won't mention any names (AfterMyNap), but she's really scary and I thought it was best to do as she says. Anywho ... it's good to see some familiar names ... especially you Sal. Be well, Ceci |
Hi Zia and Ceci! It's nice to see both you here! :welcome_sign:

Nice to see you too, Ceci. Love your Avatar.:) |
Hi Y'all
I'm an old new poster... (or an old new poster?) ANYway, it's been a while since I posted but it's good to be back around.
Good to see everyone! :) becca44 |
Hi Becca. We've know and yet not known each other for a few years. :p I have fond memories of the old BT and "curmudgeons corner" and other fun stuff.
Nice to see you here, too. |
Hello Becca ~ it's nice to "see" you at NeuroTalk;)
|
It's really good to be here! And you're right SallyC, I've 'sort of but not really' known you for a long time. We - kind of - go way back! LOL
I followed Ceci over, who was threatened by AMN ...so perhaps I have AMN to thank for reminding me of BT. Shall we rev up curmudgeons? Okay maybe not but that was a hoot. For anyone interested, I'm a Minnesota woman who was diagnosed with RRMS in 2001. So far so good: lots of lesions coming and going apparently, but no measurable disability. My neuro thinks I'm 'interesting' in that regard and for now, I'll take it. Happily. :) |
Holy guacamole! I did not threaten anything! I don't believe in idle threats, I just do it! I stalked Ceci and she survived. If anyone should repent it is she, my sides still hurt from her making me laugh so uncharacteristically hard!
Hey Becca & Wiz & Zia & Snoop & Sally. What's for desert?? |

Now let's play a game. Can you guess how many cavities AfterMyNap has? (And this is also what happens when plastic surgery goes very wrong!) |
Definitely one of your prouder moments, Cec. Love ya' back.

Oh, Hi Cec! Hi Becca! Hi Wiz!!! Fancy meeting you all here... AMN threatened me too, and you know.... well.... I just had to.... well... she .... *ahem* NEVERMIND! Hi Sally, I've never seen any of these people before.... I plead the Fifth! |
Hi DM! :)

I will jump in and say Hello! Haven't we met somewhere! I see some familiar names and I am sure my name is familiar to some as well. I was dx'd in 2001 with RRMS. I have been on Beta, Tysabri, Copaxone and now am in a clinical trial for Tovaxin. I live in Idaho and am a landscape designer and am very busy this time of year. In fact, I have joined forces with a landscape contractor and we are extremely busy right now! Business is very good! I love my job and fortunately, have been able to continue working as I do most of my work inside! Lucky me! I also do some flying, not as much as I used to, but some! Nice to meet all of you! I hope to get here a little more often, but who knows with my schedule! ;) |
Hi Cheryl!!!! Glad to see you flew over... Are you arms tired??? hahahaha
Are you getting visions of an old Bob Hope movie???? Thanks for the heads up w/that pic of AMN, Cec!!! *cancelling appt w/plastic surgeon* I'd rather live w/my laugh lines!:D :D |
