Default When the body talks.. do you listen?

The saying I've heard from my doc's over the years is listen to your body. Do what it's telling you. If your tired, take a nap. If your sick, rest, etc etc. Well, my body has been talking to me and I have been ignoring it. If Im tired, I just keep pushing myself til I drop, no nap for me. Im so tired of feeling lazy because of the fatigue, I try to just keep going. Well, I have finally decided to listen to it. I am giving into what my body is saying it needs. I have found I can sleep for 12 hours straight, get up for an hour and be totally ready for bed again and sleep another 4 hours. My appetite is low, and drinking fluids is a joke. Im never thirsty anymore. The hug seems to be creeping back into my life. I have been having problems with my shots. Every shot is a lump, or bruise, or welt. My body says "give me a break", so a break it will get. The time has come to stop ignoring what the body is crying for. Do you pay attention or ignore it and push on??

That was my day...all weekend. Now I have to go to work; this month's schedule sux! The heat sux! I'm still learning that I am not Super Woman.

Besides, I wouldn't fit in her sexy outfit.

I used to push myself. Told my body NO! you cant have that! you cant have a cigarette! you cant have chocolate! you cannot rest now, and not even at 10pm, we have stuff to do. I used to push, vacuum, dust, mop, scrub, come on! whats wrong with you! Take your meds! I dont care if you dont like them, lets go!

After that huge attack that left me legally blind, I am MUCH more kind to myself. My body said this med is making your MORE sick, and its causing trouble. I quit! You need a nap, off to bed we go! We want dessert first! ok...have a bite first. I found that after eating clean, my body craves the clean food, and finds the junk distasteful, so I did something right. DS wanted to come visit last night, I said NO! I dont feel good today, and you my dear need to do something else, somewhere else, and I watched junk on TV till I finally fell asleep.

Honor they self. it will lead you to good places.

I usually tend to listen to the old body only after she has reared up and smacked me upside my head. Too little, too late -so she teaches me a lesson the hard way. sigh...

I thought I was suppossed to get wiser the older I got???

When I was a young scamp in my 40s & 50s, I didn't need no "body" telling me what to do, but now my body doesn't take no for an answer. If it's done, it just stops and I either lie down and take a rest or fall down, whichever comes first.

Not so much. While I expect my recuperation time to get longer in time, I'll push myself knowing it will only affect me for a few hours. The more and longer I'm affected by symptoms, the more I'll start listening.
