There is an MS center at Dartmouth in midstate NH.

You can ask your local neuro for an MS center and I am sure you will find more than a few. If I remember correctly there is one in Albany.

Good luck.

I live in another state but think if you go to support group mtg (check local NMSS chapter) many of the particiapnts could give you personal opinions and feedback as to a good neuro.

Good luck!

I don't live in New York and don't know anyone but I just want to say that you are a wonderful daughter to try to find a good doctor for your Mom. Welcome to our group.

you can also try calling 1-800-FIGHT MS. you can get your local MS chapter and they can help you find someone.

i'm praying you and your mom will find a better dr. can her pcp help? perhaps even a referral may get her seen faster.

There is an awesome neurologists' office and MS Clinic located in the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, 585-275-7854. I've been seeing a neurologist there for 18 years and have been treated very well. From my experience and from hearing from other MS'ers all the neurologists in the MS clinic are good. The doctor I now see is Dr. Matthew Bellizzi.

Also contact the Upstate NY Chapter of the National MS Society. 1650 South Ave., Ste 100, Rochester,1.800.344.4867 or 585-271-0801. It's located right around the corner from Strong that has so much information available. The information is not just for those with MS but for their families as well. I've been volunteering at the MS office and see how much information and help they have to offer.
