Hey good news...I think. The results for my IgG antibodies test to Aquaporin-4 came back negative. I have a visual evoked potential test scheduled for Wednesday, and am still waiting for a date with the MRI for a follow-up spinal scan (Canadian medical system wait lists are sometimes months long.). But the Aquaporin-4 test was the one that I was most concerned about, as its fairly definitive for NMO.
Waiting for the NMO test results and re-diagnosis is like playing a weird poker game...but I'd prefer to hold onto my hand with the MS, TM and ON cards, rather than drawing an NMO full house; as its hard to win with that one. All other blood work came back within reference range except creatinine level was low. Nothing to worry about there. It either means that the kidneys are working super well or that the low level is due to decreased muscle mass. That's most likely as spasticity has caused a fair amount of muscle atrophy, especially in the lower legs over the past few months. I call it skinny, bird leg syndrome. Just wanted to share the good news. With love, Erika |
