Sloooooooow stretches help me. yoga, quigong Tai Chi and so forth. Gentle slow purposeful movements. Flat out exercise makes me go spastic which is not what I want. This way I get core training without the bulk and spasms.

But do any of you think circulation is a culprit?
Of course brain/nerve damage is a major reason, but circulation has to play a role. |

Blood. Oxygen is the test that I've tried.
My spasms wake me more when I fall asleep w/o putting ox concentrator on. Smoking is bad for MS they say..why? Just reverse effects if thats true no? |

slow stretching is better if avoiding spasm. In my case, spasm probably does get worse if circulation is impaired, as it was when I was on chemo for another disease. I had to quit the chemo (but took radiation).
For many years I've taken a small dose of non-flush niacin to open blood vessels and increase circulation that way. I take only 250 mg a day, 300 would be OK, depending on how the capsules are available. It is important to get the non-flush timed released ones or you could have a scary flush. I don't know if magnesium and Vitamin E help blood circulation or nerve circulation, but without them I would have overwhelming spasm. This has happened to me when over night in a hospital without my supplements. It makes me scared of how my death will be, if hospitalized without these helps of spasm. Will they notice that I am in spasm and jerking all night? No one cared when I was in the hospital last time overnight. They said I'd have to wait for morning for magnesium, so I jerked all night and never slept. But if I'm there for an extended period, will anyone care? I don't think so, not here. Maybe in Seattle where I am thinking of going to an old folks home one of these days. Someone might care there. Doctors are good here, ER is good, but overnight in the hospital is a disaster. |
