Harry Z and Daisygirl -- can you provide some links where you learned they believe Tysabri does not work as well as they initially thought? Thanks!

Sorry to hijack this BG-12 thread with the Tysabri question. Maybe you could start a new thread with this topic?

I wish I had saved the link to the article. It obviously wasn't written by Biogen but the info showed the original reduction in risk (about 68%) of attacks was now about 37% when using data from all patients who had used the drug, not just those who were still on it. I guess the readers can choose to either believe those numbers or not.

Well readers would better be able to "choose to believe those numbers or not" after looking at the documented evidence themselves rather than relying on second hand information. Still looking for the links if anyone has them.

Let's just say that I don't make these numbers up or grab them out of thin air. If I saved every link that I came across, I would need a separate hard drive on my computer just for that. Yes, it would be nice if I could find the link again but so far I haven't been able to.

My doctor already told me he doesn't want to put me on it because of the side affects. I have heart issues...palps. You also have to have your liver enzymes checked often. It also causes flu like symptoms and hair loss...no thanks!!!

Side effects

No serious side effects have been reported from clinical trials.

The most common side effects were:
■flushing and feeling hot
■gastrointestinal upset - diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain
■headache
