I've never seen my MRIs and haven't had one in the last 15 years.
Was told by the Neuro, at that time, when asked, that My MRIs
were typical MSy. Never delved further, a waste time.

Default MRI - Moderate Brain atrophy noted...

In my last MRI report the radioligist wrote ...

"Moderate Brain atrophy noted, but appropriate for age and medical condition".

Can you guys actually "interpret" MRIs??

Are you able to tell me your opinions of pictures?

Thanks

Anybody here can give you an opinion on the pictures...but I don't think there is anybody here qualified to give you a professional opinion that is worth much. Most of the time, there is a radiologist's report included on the CD with the images. If you post their description, we might be able to help you make heads or tails out of what is being said there more easily than trying to read MRI images from scratch.

Thanks TXBatman. My issue is that I actually think they might have missed something, to my incredibly inexperienced non-medical eye, but it just doesn't "look" right. I just have to be patient. I have another appointment coming up I just want to know everything right now, that's all lol

Radiologists are NOT created equal. I personally never wait for report & always take cd home day of scan. Some radiologists are great, cover every thing they observe on scans, others not so. Which is why I look for myself & compare with last years.

I just had one done last week. Had to go to diff location though same tech scanned me BUT (this really stinks) slices weren't taken at exact same levels (started slices a tad closer to top of head) which means I can't compare it to last yrs since lesions won't be in same place/slice. Head tilt is VERY important too. Techs say they can straighten it in program but BS. Sure they can make your head look straight, but if sliced at diff angle, it's sliced at diff angle.

That is quite reassuring to hear actually, thank you

What a pain with the angle

Well after neuro visit yesterday my condition has declined in the past month such that he is now getting a cervical spine MRI done too. Why he didn't do that in the first place as well as brain is beyond me. Anyway. Tis what it is.

So Hopefully this picture works…. if it does I'll have to find one of the other ones on my computer that looked a bit different than I would have thought it should.. I was a little concerned at the white smudge part at the top and the little circle half way down on the right. The smudge/white part edge thing is more apparent in one of the other pictures which I have to find….

Any thoughts??

Hi Christobelle

I hope that the cervical spine MRI shows something for you too. It sure sounds like you are having a really hard time. I know lots of people who don't have any evidence on MRI that do indeed, have MS, so please don't think that this is the only thing that defines it, and the discomfort/pain that you are suffering.
