Anyone taking zanaflex for spasms? Neuro is switching me from baclofen to zanaflex. Wondering if it will really help with the spasms. I was taking so much baclofen each day and it still wasnt stopping my spasms.

I take zanaflex and it definitely helps me. Taken regularly, I hardly get the hug, though the back spasms usually are relieved better by taking a zanaflex and a nap. They can make me sleepy if I'm already tired.
Good luck, let us know how it goes. ![]()

I have taken both Baclofen and Zanaflex for spasticity. Zanaflex worked quite well for the spasticity but I couldn't continue to take it because it caused my blood pressure to plummet. Watch out for that. Otherwise, good luck.

I am on zanaflex....it will make you real tired at first. My script is for 4mg 3x a day; and that is way too much. I can break the 4mg tablet in half.
A whole one at night really helps me to relax and go to sleep, too bad it wears off after 4 hours. Good Luck, let us know how it works for you!

I was weak on the very first Zanaflex dose, which must have been small, since my neuro usually started things small. It too so much spasticity out of my legs that I could barely drag myself from the car to the house, and in those days I was usually walking well (not so well now, many years later). So I had to quit.
