Most definitely prayers are with you my friend.

May all be well with the thyroid and may you quickly get past this rough patch .

With love, Erika

So, so sorry to hear about your latest problems, Jappy. This disease is truly horrific in the way it gradually takes parts of "us" away. I'll be praying that your thyroid biopsy goes well....don't know where we'd be without our faith that the Lord is in control. Be well.....

Aw Joyce, I am so sorry. I pray for you every day and special prayer are on their way that your Thyroid test is negative for anything harmful.

The swallowing problem just sucks. It must be scary. What is your Doc going to do about that? Know that you are loved and cared for here.

Love and hugs,

Love and hugs,

The real scary part is, as time goes on, and if the muscles get completely
affected the only thing that can be done is a feeding tube into the stomach.
That if this happens I don't know how I will handle it. My DH had a tube going down his nose because of the throat cancer. With him everything was
taken out. He couldn't talk anymore. Tried to learn how to use the vibrator
gadget that you put under your neck and it is supposed to make the sounds of what you are saying. It was very hard.

Had the thyroid biobsy today. Was not very pleasant. When he was
giving me the shots in my neck to numb me "BOY DID THAT HURT"

But happy to say that when he was taking the cells out of the mass I only
felt pressure or a slight pinch.

Go back this Friday for results and to talk. He said he feels that it will
be benign. "pray to God"

I keep doing all my exercises every day, twice per day and really notice the diff. if I let up on them.

Let's all bow our heads in prayer that the Lord keeps the devil's flu away from us all.

How are you sickys doing...Jappy, Judy2, Erika, Barb, Debbie, Eric...

Thanks for asking, Sally. Right now I'm "status quo". Made it to my doctor's appointment this past Monday using one of the transportation vans. They aren't cheap! Finally made three appointments with different doctors that had been getting put off. The first one in January is with a uro-gynecologist to see about having a supra-pubic catheter put in. Having a foley is great, but with the other there wouldn't be the "outward signs".

An aide has been coming in twice a week for about an hour to help me bathe, dress, etc. The lymphedema specialist will start soon as the special bandages arrive. This disease is really the pitts....

Glad to hear you're doing well and hope the others will check in with an up-date. I'll definitely be praying for the flu bug to stay away from our doors!

Sicky Erika picking and pecking a response to Cinder paw's mom SallyC .

Stupid hands went numb again 2 days ago. Also affecting legs/feet and back/neck so shuffling around. Mostly in the mornings, then tingling, cramping, spasms and pain-stiff for the rest of the day. Feels like the body is turning into concrete; but at least only a slight headache in the mornings.

Everything has to be done in slow motion; so taking a long time to do things...dropping stuff...and struggling to then clean up the messes. Already dropped a doz eggs onto the floor today which Willy the dog gladly helped to clean up (he only eats the yolks though) .
Guess I'll be having oatmeal after all.

Willy wll be going to the dog sitter for a few days for some fun and frolic while I go to medical appts. next week.

Had to cancel an appt for neck therapy this past Thurs because wasn't up to driving the 90 min. on snow covered roads to get there and back; but will go on Monday; even if someone has to drive me.
The other appointments that I have are also in that town, so might stay there rather than coming home in between; as more snow is in the forecast.

Hoping that the MRI work up that I've waited 7 months for and is scheduled for Wed will not get bumped due to strike action going on with hospital staff here. They cancelled non-emergency imaging (MRI, CT, X-ray) across the province for two days this week already. The workers do deserve a raise, and I support them, but I would also like to know what the MRI might reveal with respect to what is going on with this disease.

Today & tomorrow I'll be taking in a live-streamed lecture series for a course on 'Mind & Its Perceptions" that I'm taking. Interesting POVs and it is turning out to be good exercise for brain/mind while the body is resistant to exercising.

Well, that's pretty much my hand workout for the morning; took half an hour to type this and oatmeal still needs to get made .

Wishing everyone a good weekend .

With love, Erika
