Default Latest MRI report

Good news from the radiologist's report on the latest MRI.

There are only a few new lesions; and they are very small, and are confined to the frontal lobe of the brain .
Yeah, I know, sometimes things don't show up...especially in the spinal cord; but in this case I really feel that IF something didn't show up, it is a minor change. At least there is no evidence of transverse myelitis.

He thinks that some of the new stuff might actually be small bleeds from small vessel disease, but I don't think so. I don't have any risk factors for it, but I suppose the neuro will weigh in on that potential when I see him in the New Year.
My blood pressure has always been on the low side 100/60 and my cholesterol levels have always been way lower than normal.

From the MRIs of the spine he noted bulging discs that are encroaching on the spinal cord at C 6&7, T 7 and L3, 4, 5; but he didn't see any distortions or impingements. There is also a forward slippage of L5 on the sacrum; but no sign of a fracture (old or new).
All of these are probably from the falls that I had this year. When the body goes down, it tends to go down hard because the legs just give out.
In time, I think that the disc bulges should resolve; because years ago I had a couple of lumbar discs prolapse after a very bad fall and they resolved within a year with exercise and physical therapy.

Onward and upward as they say...2013 promises to be a very good year; as I think that the body is finally coming around after nearly two years of a fairly continuous flare-up .

With love, Erika

That is good news Erika..keep it going...

I popped in to say "I'm feeling terrific"
Not bragging--just giving good news instead of biotching as usual..

Glad to hear it, Sal Pal!

Had a rough week-you know how you can suddenly feel "not right?". Then it was time to hit the sack for a few hours...this occurred almost daily. Bummer cause the kids were all in. Added to that the stress of the next baby shower & more stiffness than usual and I wasn't too much fun.
But now the shower is done, the holidays are over, and slowly but surely life willmreturn to its quiet form of normal...
The baby showe for DIL was wonderful; my other DIL is a wiz at creating a beautiful setting-this one was "Santa's workshop" and she had so many cute ideas; a hot chocolate bar, a section to write on a page whether you thought boy or girl, then draw a winter scene. Then she would take a pic of you with winter decor on-including a tutu all had a wonderful time.
So now it's wait time for the babies-8 weeks for DD and 14 wks for DIL. Hope I can move better by then...

Had a day and half of general pain, stiffness and spasms that started on Saturday morning, but thankfully things are feeling better by noon today. Was even able to have a nice walk in the winter wonderland with Willy the dog this afternoon .

With love, Erika

Well, did y'all survive the holiday bustle and hoopla.. I'm sure that some of you didn't and for that, I'm so sorry.

I'm an old hand at ignoring anything that causes me stress and even I had my MS moments......and they thought we were having a good time..LOL.

For those who are hurting, I'm praying you will be feeling better soon.

For those who made it through, none the worse for wear, congrats and keep the momentum going..

Doing a bit better now that the house has emptied out. Saw the neuro & he adjusted my AD so I wasn't so tired, and put me back on another med to help with several Sxs. He let me boo hoo...when I told him I'm afraid I'll end up in a WC, he took my hand & replied, "you have 2 bald guys who won't let that happen" (meaning DH & him). Talked a lot again about staying active, having a positive attitude, etc...he treats the whole person and is great.
So now my #1 target is to lose this weight...

Yesterday started having blurred vision and fatigue. Woke up this morning in a sweat with a stinker of a headache, neck stiffness and dizziness. Then after this morning's bath, I found some dried blood on the Q-tip that I used to clean my right ear with. Since then a sore throat and ear ache have been developing.

Blast! Seems that there is a virus or some sort of other infection on board .
Very frustrating because I'm very careful about washing hands, using hand sanitizers, not touching my face etc.

Hopefully the immune system will do its thing on the bug and not ignite the MS; as things have been improving in that department lately .

With love, Erika
