Been on Ampyra for over a year. It helped my balance and walking ability within a week. Now I'm seeing a chiropractor. His manipulations helped my walking right away! I was walking almost normally for a while. It is still way better and I'm wondering if I can do without the med. The thread about treating MS naturally is what prompted me to try this; I'd been thinking about it for a while.
I was taking Ampyra twice a day. Yesterday morning I took my usual pills but not the Ampyra. Same with my bedtime pills. My BF woke me up a few times because I was twitching. He often does more than twitch - he flops around, kicks, and punches! But I can gently rub his back or arm and he'll go into a deeper sleep (sometimes). So he tried this on me. Normally I sleep motionless all night, only waking to roll over maybe once if there's not a cat on or against me. I remember BF waking me twice because of the twitching last night, the second time we talked about stuff for a while and I had a hard time getting fully back to sleep. So, was the twitching due to the lack of Ampyra? I might find out tonight. Or not. I'm about to take Rosie for our morning 4/10ths of a mile jog. Will keep you apprised of my walkability!
