Default hi all

I am new to this my name is Arnold, I was just told about an hour or so ago by my neurological doc, that he really thinks I have MS.
I have been having strange numbness in my feet and lower legs for several months now, but it has been on and off. I attributed it to a compression fracture in my Lower back until a trip to the er left me admitted to the hospital. I have had many MRI'S with and without contrast, several CT scans, and lumbar punctures.
There were other symptoms I was having but didn't realize it untill
My doc started asking me questions. Now I'm here to learn all I can.
I have an appointment to see the neuro next month to discuss treatment and further tests.

Hi
One thing I would like to tell you is do not take one doctors opinion as gospel. Get lots of opinions and decide upon all of them. Some Doctors and specialist will review your MRIs when you have the hospital send them to them without seeing you.

hi arnold and welcome to NT,
this time before your appt is a good time to try to learn about MS. don't go crazy and let it consume you. just do a little research to familiarize yourself.
jot down Q's you want to ask your dr.

also, start to get copies of test results and reports and keep a file on yourself. get copies of the discs from your mri's. if and when you see other drs it will help them.

try to take someone, friend or family, with you to the appt. an extra set of ears can help because it's common to tune things out when talking about a serious illness.

welcome to the group. look around the forums. there's a lot of knowledge here. we're here to help you.

Ditto to what Nurse Nancy said...there are many treatments to slow down MS & treat the symptoms.
Always keep a symptom journal with dates of onset & dissipation-sometimes in the doc's office I forget things and this helps.
And my husband always comes with me due to the act that I have cognitive problems and can't remember what the doc tells me...
so keep your chin up and become an informed health care consumer. Be sure you have a good team, which includes your doc, nurse, and fam members.

Hi and welcome,
Hopefully it isn't MS and you won't have to stick around but if so we are here.
