I am wondering if anyone else has had this symptom.
I had a recent sleep study, and it seems that whenever I go into REM sleep, I stop breathing and I wake up gasping for air. It is a form of sleep apnea called central sleep apnea, which is different from obstructive sleep apnea. It is an indication of a compromised central nervous system. I now sleep with Oxygen. Also, I have been reading about what a lack of REM sleep does to you. It isn’t pretty. Anybody else?

that has happened often to me. I use a CPAP now. It helps tremendously, but I still have little episodes of what you describe.

My friend with MS had that. She used a bipap at night, naptime and even sometimes when she was just really tired in case she fell asleep.
