Default Acthar!

So I've been going through this current flareup since the middle of October 12', it's been hell, literally. My doctor had do 3 days of IV solu-medrol, which I had gotten 4 times before for Optic Neuritis, but my body did not take to it for this flareup, it actually made the pain much much worse. So she told me about Acthar, I guess it's the "go to" medication for when people either don't take to the solu-medrol or the react badly to it. Anyhow, she it's a very expensive medication and we had to wait for it to get approved. I will be doing my last shot of it tomorrow, I'm still hurting pretty badly but not like I was before. Has anyone ever been on Acthar before? If so, did it work well for you? I'm hoping it has post usage effects and takes all the pain away!

Yes, it was called ACTH and was the treatment used, before SM
came along. It was cheaper then..

I remember my first steroid infusion in 1993. I asked the Doc if
she was using ACTH and she said no, that she liked a newer drug
called Solumedrol. That was the only time SM worked for me.

Happy it's working for you.
