A friend of mine who has RA is getting some of these crutches. They look pretty neat!

Before the chair I had forearm crutches for 2 years(?) then a walker, then a power chair (a manual before that)
Forearm crutches were great. A P/T I went to taught me when going on stairs the good (foot first) go up, the bad (foot first) down. She taught me how to use stuff before I needed it so I'd be prepared. Turned out that was good, I was prepared and didn't have to figure stuff out.

They look interesting...
The angle at the wrist can be difficult for people with wrist or carpal tunnel however. I use a walking stick...called a hiking stick to go up and down our outside stairs. So far the stick works for me. But when I use it alot, it does put a strain on my right arm and shoulder. You use these mostly vertically..so less strain on the wrist. It just depends on what you need and can tolerate. I've had carpal tunnel since my pregnancy 32 yrs ago.

If I use something to help with mobility I prefer Trekking Poles.
