Default MS Hug

For the past 2 days, I have experienced bad pain in my midsection, ya know where your pants line is. It has gotten so worse. I looked it up, and ironically it looks like its what you call a ms hug. i'm new to ms so I don't know how to treat this or what to do. any suggestions? the other wierd thing, is I had surgery down below, and whenever the pain gets real intense I can even feel it go down to the scar tissue down there and makes it hurt. Any comments, advice?

Can you call your neuro? There are medications (baclofen, valium)

I've been doing stretching exercises. Exercise and physical therapy help a lot for a bunch of MS symptoms if a person is capable of doing the exercises.

So far, every time I've had the "hug", it goes away by itself. Maybe something for spasms would help? Hope you get relief soon!

I always keep some liquid calcium/magnesium in my fridge.

It helps me when the spasms in my hands and feet get out of control. I do take Baclafen, but the other seems to help as a boost.

Make sure you let your doc know.

Pain in the midsection, on top of just not feeling yourself, could be 'dread'. 24 years old, newly diagnosed, wow. It's tough being the younger member of the MS community. I was 25 when I had my 1st bout of ON.
And, of course, the more you read about it, the worse everything appears. Not that getting that dx isn't dreadful enough. Being young, life before you. And yeah. It really stinks, to be honest.

You mentioned, lack of insurance being a barrier between you and getting the help and support that you desire. In an ideal situation, if you had the insurance, what would you like to get help with from your doctor(s)? What would help you, most?
