Default Bedwetting, showers, more

Hey all - I feel really embarrased to be writing what I'm fixing too - I'm 24, and I've had a problem with bedwetting all of my life. I've only been DXed with MS since April, but like many of you I believe I've had MS for multiple years now. Bedwetting happens for me even if I do not drink/eat before bedtime. Just something I've always struggled with.

Another thing I wanted to ask was about Cold showers - I've heard a lot about the health benefits to it, but I wonder if its for MS patients as well. I've tried cold showers and they feel wonderful afterwards, but sometimes I simply can't take one.

Last night I couldn't sleep until 5am - I felt so dizzy during the night, it was so hard to even walk to the bathroom and pee! I had to constantly shake myself so I wouldn't faint. These last 2 weeks have just been getting worse and worse. There would be a day or so that I would feel fine, then that night I wouldn't be able to sleep until the morning of the next day

Cool not cold showers, give me strength. I always had one,
as soon as I got in from work or the heat. I'd wrap myself
in a terry wrap, after and enjoy.

Never take a hot shower!!!

Yes I agree, cool, not cold water for MS symptoms due to heat. Cold might be too stressful.

There is a hydrotherapy form where one takes aleternating hot and cold showers to help with lymph drainage. Maybe that's what you are referring to?

Cool baths are my saviour on hot days. Sometimes I'm soaking in one so frequently that I just leave the water in the tub and take the plunge as needed during the day or night.

The other thing that works for me on hot nights is to take a cotton bed sheet, get it wet in cool water, strip down and wrap the body with it before going to bed. A beach towel on the bed protects it from getting damp.

I don't have AC as it doesn't usually get hot enough long enough where I live to make it worth it. Although as symptoms have been getting worse over time, I'm considering taking that plunge as well

With love, Erika
