The too hot thing is neuropathy. They tell people with neuropathy to not use hot water specifically so you don't burn yourself. I have always been more of a mild temp water person, and I've noticed that some of the baths I've taken my feet come out looking really red and I realized I used too hot of water. This kind of thing happened when I was cold and just wanted to heat up. Now I know better.
