Have you shopped around yet, KL? I hope you can find your meds cheaper somewhere. NurseNancy suggested contacting the drug company - excellent idea! I still get Tecfidera free through Biogen.

Hi KittyLady and anyone else that may help,

I printed two coupons off from the internet today. One had a discount of 75% off the price of a name brand drug, the other 82% off another name brand drug.

I took the two coupons, (already knowing what the FULL retail price was on both drugs), to the pharmacy and asked as a CASH paying customer, how much would these drugs cost me with these coupons? I was told WITH the coupon, one would cost me $119 and the other $212. Just so happens that is exactly the FULL retail cost of these drugs.

This is not the first time I have attempted to lower my prescription cost with coupons and it has NEVER worked for me. What is the deal? Why does the coupon say that I can get these discounts but the pharmacies run them and come up with amounts that are full retail price?

I know some discounts and coupons have restrictions, especially if you have other coverage, but I asked as a CASH paying, non-covered, person. These were not state discount cards. These were not discount cards at all. These were specific coupons for specific drugs with NO strings according to the coupon that printed out.

I just do not understand. Anybody have a clue? Anybody ever use a coupon for a specific drug and have it work?

I actually DID have a coupon from Crestor mgf. that worked for a specific time frame over a year ago. It allowed me to get a discount for x amount of refills and then expired. Once you have had the discount, it could not be renewed. It was great while it lasted. Crestor also has some other programs for which I did not qualify.

I have tried other internet discount "cards" that did not save anything and today's coupons did not either. I have also checked with the specific mfg. websites.

I am just curious as to why these coupons give NO savings when they plainly state large percentages off the cost.
