I am waiting to get a repeat C spine MRI, since I have newly developed lhermittes sign... 3 years ago there was a question if I had a lesion on my c spine (one radiologist said yes, and the other said no- they never agreed haha).. anyhow.. I should be getting the MRI in the next week, but in the meantime it was found to have B12 deficiency, Folate, zinc, B1 deficiencies.. think there were more actually.. so my question is this:
If the lhermittes sign is caused by B12 deficiency (which is usually number 2 on the list behind MS as causes).. is there a "lesion" or signal change on the spinal cord that shows up on MRI with that? Thanks! |

hello,
i don't know the answer to your Q but with the mri you should find out soon. when you go ask for a copy of the mri and a copy of the report. that way if you ever see any other drs you will have the info. and, reading a copy of the report may help you understand the dr's interpretation. are you getting with and without contrast? let us know.

THank you!! Sooo, kind of interesting! I had my MRI today (with and without contrast)... I won't get the results for a few days I'm sure.. but I did look at the CD, and I have seen a few MRI's but I couldn't believe what I was seeing - there is an increased signal you can see without contrast, but especially on the contrasted one - its a long line that starts about c4 and goes all the way down to at least T3!!
I'm curious what the radiologist will say, or what the neurologist will say... but from what I see online and on that - it looks consistent with a myelopathy, especially B12 deficiencey - which I have confirmed now... (after 3 years of being a mystery)! So time will tell what the results really are! |
