I wish there was something more we could do for MaryAnn.......I am glad she has family with her.....this is way to hard to deal with alone......

Any news Cindy? I guess you even dread seeing her number show up on your cell.....you know how her heart will be breaking.......I pray you the words to help our friend feel comforted.......

No, none today. I don't think our little DM needs the aggrevation of feeling like she has to call every day. The family just needs to be together right now and the best I can do is to keep on praying and try to rally others to do the same.

your doing a fine job......I just figure she will need you to talk to when the time comes......I bet shes getting so wore out already......been in her shoes...I know shes not thinkin bout her own health right now......just hope shes can handle all this

DM has been in my prayers. As someone else said, this time with her Mom is so precious, I hope they are savoring each minute together. I remember the last time my Mom smiled at me, on Christmas Day 2004. It was a rare and precious thing in late stage Alzheimer's.

A short note from DM:

"Mom is still alert, knows everything, but is growing weaker.... She is only taking sips of fluids here and there... wt loss is very obvious. She's such a tiny thing anyway.

We are not doing anything to prolong her suffering, just pain meds thru IV.

My Sis let the cat out of the bag that my DD and her DD are coming in from NC on Sat.... So, I think my MOM is trying to be strong, so she can see them.....

It's hard to see her like this, but I know that it is something I have no control of.... Thanks for letting me get this out..... I just feel like talking.....

I will miss her so much.... Mom is my shopping buddy, my lunch buddy, my confidante, my friend and my angel....... Hugs to you all..."

I must say how uplifting you all have been to me in all this. I thank you.

I spoke with DM tonight and things are not much changed. Mom had a rough day yesterday which resulted in increased pain meds. Today was much better for her and DM said that she was joking and much more comfortable.

More family will come in this weekend and I am hoping that our friend will get some better rest. Things weigh heavily on her little spirit.

Continued prayers are so much appreciated.
