Default Personal Sound Amplifiers - PSA

I have a slight hearing problem due to MS and most likely age. Years ago
I had a bout with lessened hearing, which was Caused by a MS flare, 'cause
when I had it checked out by my Doc, He found no wax buildup or other
blockage. Sooo, at my young age, at the time, MS - right? Had to be!

I'm thinking that before I go spending 2000 to 5000 bucks on a hoopty do
hearing aid, I'd try a set of those cheaper PSAs. Anyone here ever try one?
Did it work or fail for you.

I've read reviews of everything from, "greatest thing I ever had to "It's a ripoff".
So tell me what, if any, experience you've had with them. I'd really appreciate
your feedback.
