Has anyone else's neuro suggested a low sodium diet? In a way it's not bad, I think I've lost probably about five pounds this week, definitely an inch+ off the waist. But at the same time I think that's more starvation than cutting out sodium. It just seems like there's far too many things I can't eat and not enough that I can especially when I have to be super careful on my iron intake (hemochromatosis)
So many meats, nuts, veggies, grains and even a few fruits are already knocked off for high iron content, throw sodium into the mix and I guess it's steamed rice and grapes for me ![]() Or rather it's too busy screaming at me: "gimme BREAD! Gimme MILK!" (A bit of a shocker over how much sodium is in milk ![]() ![]() Any suggestions? Using Mrs. Dash and all that, but sincerely missing the milk and cookies before bedtime, and the hot buttered toast and tea in the mornings especially as things should be cooling down a bit here soon which normally kicks my appetite back into gear. Quitting smoking is soooo soooo much easier than giving up salt ![]() Not really craving the smokes, but was ready to huff the salt blocks at Ganders today. ![]() |
