I have a slight hearing problem due to MS and most likely age. Years ago
I had a bout with lessened hearing, which was Caused by a MS flare, 'cause when I had it checked out by my Doc, He found no wax buildup or other blockage. Sooo, at my young age, at the time, MS - right? Had to be! ![]() I'm thinking that before I go spending 2000 to 5000 bucks on a hoopty do hearing aid, I'd try a set of those cheaper PSAs. Anyone here ever try one? Did it work or fail for you. I've read reviews of everything from, "greatest thing I ever had to "It's a ripoff". So tell me what, if any, experience you've had with them. I'd really appreciate your feedback. ![]()

I wear two hearing aids. My MS doctor said that it is because of the MS, but my dad was quite deaf when he was older, so I think it might be the MS and heredity. You are smart to start that way. I went the other direction. My first hearing aids cost six grand, and they were very unsatisfactory. Four years later I spent another six grand on another pair. These ones are not much better.
Let me know how it goes for you, OK?

a PSA didn't do a thing for me. My ENT said to try using earphones and turning up volume or bass, treble etc (he said to get good earphone, not a set of cheap ones as the better ones filter out white noise, etc). Earbuds work for me as I can boost the volume and I can even use the equalizer settings or record/microphone option on my phone if I have to.
Have you had a hearing test by an audiologist? That would be my first step as it can determine if you need a hearing device (of any sort) and for what tones, etc.

I received my 2 PSAs in the mail yesterday, along with extra batteries galore,
a cleaner and brush, all for $87.00. I like them for me, but can see where they wouldn't be a lot of help if you had a serious hearing loss, but they work well enough for me. ![]() ![]() I'll test F to F conversation Sunday, when Family come over. Great for low talking or English shows to understand. And I can turn the TV down a few decibles (sp). Thanks for all of your help. I couldn't make a decision like this, without your guidance. ![]()
