Default Just a vent...

no diagnosis still.. the waiting is taking forever. lol.

I am sure since I dont have a diagnosis yet and no treatment plan I am more worried about it?

My actual vent is that before all of this started I was jogging and walking 3-5 miles a day and was saving for a bike to lose my extra weight (80lbs)
I got to the point where I could run and then all this started. So in an attempt to continue with light activity...I got on my elliptical and slowly 40rpms. I had to get off in 3 minutes. 3 MINUTES.
I couldn't walk right the rest of the day and had to take pain meds to help. Up until this point had no leg symptoms besides spastic toes. No muscle weakness except for what I thought was the fact that I am very over weight.
3-5 miles to 3 minutes.

Well, that stinks.

I remember getting an elliptical several years ago and I could only do about 2 minutes and had to stop. My legs were like jello and so shaky.

My son hopped on and did 45 minutes straight!

I think not being able to exercise is what I miss most. Just to be able to take a walk around the neighborhood would be so nice. I could but it'd have to be with my walker. And it would have to be a very short walk.

But I know why I can't do it. This must be infuriating to have to wonder what the problem is. What testing have you already had done? Have they ruled anything specific out? I hope you get some answers soon.

I have a brain mri with lesions and we did the LP and blood work on the 5th. My cervical spine mri is the 29th.
On the same day as the cervical spine mri we will have all the results back and be able to look at the spine mri in the office same day. So my dr. at the ms center is hopeful we will have the diagnosis that day.
It has been the longest 5 months of my life start to finish lol.

Let us know what the diagnosis is. Not wishing for MS or any other auto-immune disease but at least you can take some proactive steps once you know something.

My five months of limbo has stretched to 20 months. I'm hoping yours doesn't.

Last year I was walking/running 18 miles a week (in between relapses). After my last relapse I can't do physio exercises without bad muscle pain (glutes down -- everywhere I was weak from end of July to mid-September). I can't walk on uneven ground. Hoping to get back some of this -- I've done it before and I'm committed to doing it again.

Success looks different now.

Lost 40 pounds last year and have gained almost 30 back. I know exactly where you are coming from, Summer. And I'm sorry.

Fingers crossed for you that you get answer soon, regardless of the answer. I really think the hardest thing when your body doesn't listen is 'why'. Once there's an answer, once it has a name it's like "ahhh okay then I can back to my life now thanks!" But until then, it's Limbo, emphasis on the capital L.
