This probably isnt the right forum, feel free to move it.
I was on Copaxone for a VERY Short time. I was allergic to it. What do I do with the box of shots now? It seems like such a waste to throw them out. But isnt it against the law to give it away? Thanks!!!! |

This question gets asked a lot but there's no real good definitive answer. Here's what I have available in my area: http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/ASAC-...238545951.html. I'm 30 minutes from a big city (Cedar Rapids) but am there at least once a week. Maybe you could call the police department in the biggest city near you to see what they suggest.
Or you might be able to give it to your doctor. Good luck!

You really cannot give away rx medication, it is against the law and doctors and pharmacies can't pass it out again if you turn it back in. Unfortunately the medication already dispensed will be disposed. If you're feeling sketchy about flushing it yourself, you can still contact you local pharmacy many of them will take rx medication and dispose of it for you or will tell you the proper disposal method.

Here is a link about the various states' laws concerning returning medication:
http://www.ncsl.org/research/health/...recycling.aspx Biologicals and other drugs requiring refrigeration are typically excluded. As are controlled substances. But some charity groups do collect unused medication that are stable, to dispense in other countries where the laws are looser.

September 27 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. It seems to be for any prescription drugs.
You can find a location near you at this DEA Website: https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/N...1-AF7DEF631D19
