Crazy Work up in progress

I'm usually in the spinal forum, but recently started having increased neurological symptoms i.e. numbness and tingling both feet, loss of balance, tremors, jerks, dropping things, hyperreflexia, 5 beat clonus in right leg, positive NCV, burning in fingertips and ataxia. I also have some visual disturbances.

In the last week, I had to start using a cane to keep my balance. I'm a 53 year old nurse and highly suspect MS. I do have B12 & D deficiency. I also have chronic pain from degenerative disc disease.

I am just now starting to taper up on Neurontin after a trip to the ER when all these symptoms attacked me at once. My lower spine looked okay on MRI. I have not had an MRI of my brain. My next Neuro appt isn't until late October. Last saw neurologist in January. He is so hard to get an appt with, but is the best in this area. Still have lab to be drawn.

All that to say Hi! LOL.

Hello BellaLea and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I have not had an MRI of my brain.
When you have your Neurology appointment and if he is going to do a brain MRI you might also ask to have the cervical spine MRI too.

Thanks Snoopy! I had cervical surgery a year ago and it was my 3rd one. I may have too much scar tissue for anything to show up. I do know that the Neurontin has helped decrease my hand spasisity, but my balance still sucks.
