Default Buffet Rage
Are you guilty of this crime against fellow diners?

Recently, I was at a fairly upscale dining establishment where a light appetizer buffet was part of the dinner experience. I noted a definite pattern in behavior every time the fresh load of shrimp was brought to the buffet. Otherwise collected and courteous individuals launched into a mad frenzy to grab the fresh shrimp, bolting through the dining room, disheveling chairs, rushing past the elderly, and essentially shoving young diners out of their ways. Now, I'm not talking about one or two people, I am talking about 25-30 in every wave of the free-for-all. It was astonishing.

As a fellow diner, I felt it was my obligation to ram a few of them with my scooter. I got my shrimp.

Good for you! Management should have been more aggressive in escorting the Invading Vandals/Goths/Huns off the premises... maybe with some discarded shrimp tails scattered after them...

Why do I have this mental picture of you at high speed running over people with leetle plates in their hands?

I am one of the people who waits a minute or two and then menaces the grabbers with my particular asset...( being 6'2)

If you line the basket on the front of your scooter, you could just upend the whole shrimp tray for yourself.

Hmmm. I like to think that I wait patiently when the crablegs come out, but that probably doesn't happen until after the 3rd trip.....Before that, stay out of my way. Tongs can be a deadly instrument.

Cept this time of year we will drive around with ac blasting.....trying to yell over the radio cigs rolling smoke through the air....and us sayin.....dang if it wasnt so HOT we could....or would.....but maybe not since its so darn hot lol.......
