Can taking levaquin once cause damage? I was given it for potential uti and the next day my tendons were bothering me so I quit it immediately. A month later I started suffering from current nerve issues. I've been told that taking it once couldnt do anything but it has left me wondering.

I honestly don't think so. Probably just a coincidence.

i think the bigger issue, is the misuse and overuse of antibiotics, which leads to antibiotic resistant infections. Theres even bacteria resistant to the most powerful antibiotic out there now.

Not sure about only using Levaquin once; but I had bladder surgery about 6 or 7 yrs ago. I was given a 14day prescription for Levaquin. After about a few days noticed my legs and feet starting to swell. Figured it was from the bladder surgery; but by the time I finished this scrip; I wrote on the bottle; "Do not take this med again; swelling feet/legs. Although I has spine issues, I did not have PN until the bladder surgery. It was on NT that I was made aware of the danger of Levaquin. I have been on Sprionlactone for Edema since the bladder surgery and have suffered from PN since then as well. No coincidence here. I believe Levaquin is the contributing culprit. Gerry |
