Time has come when I need a transportable scooter - wondering what in particular to look for in a scooter and which you have found to be good - or bad - thanks

Personally as one who has gone from crutches (Canadian), walker then to electric wheelchair I thought about a scooter but getting on and off too difficult for me (shoot, getting into tub was getting hard). At this point I can transfer from chair to toilet with grab bar independently. Got to look at you own capabilities.

Sorry Karen, I must have fallen asleep.
Here's what I have and I love it. Especially the price. It's been the most reliable scooter I've ever had. It is not for advanced handicapped peeps. http://www.walgreens.com/q/hero-scooters PS.. Your BD quote fits right in. Must be a sign.

I use a scooter and an electric wheelchair, but I wouldn't really consider either of mine to be easy to transport.

Hi Karen,
I am on my 2nd Pride scooter. The first lasted from 2006 to middle of 2013. Both broke apart to fit in the trunk of a car, tho my newest is larger and a bit more difficult. They both were/are airplane o k. my scooter is a Victory. Linda |

My sister has one but she has a van that had a hydraulic lift that folds up in the trunk and then when you push the power button, the lift slides out and goes down to the ground, you drive it onto the platform and it just slides back into the van. Cost a pretty penny. Medicare took of the price of the lift device, not the van. I think the only thing that comes apart is that the battery pack comes off which makes it lighter. My Mo had one and nothing came off on that thing. When I rent one, it totally comes apart, Battery comes out, seat comes off the base and my husband would easily take in and out of our trunk. No, I don't know the names of any of these. Good luck

i think i know what you're talking about but i don't have one.
you might try googling what you need and see what comes up. i've seen several that break down into parts that you can put into your car. however, each section may be about 30-50 lbs. and, they're not cheap; at least $1200. but research it. you may even come upon some that have catalogs. let us know. i'm interested to know what you find.
