Default Update on heart Palp's

Well I finally got to see the dr friday and got the results from the monitor.

Seems my heart skipped 18 beats in a 24 hour period. Some of them were back to back skpis while I slept. (NOT GOOD NEWS)

The first thing they would normally do is put me on an increased dose of BP med or change it to a different stronger med.....well my bp was so low that she wouldnt do that. It was 96/58 that day.
Now shes concerned about that.

My pulse was another issue......it seemed my at rest ran around 77 bpm well when the skips happen it jumps to a whopping 120-130 a minute and stays there for a good while. She doesnt like that either.
So now I go for a stress test and then a sleep study. No change in the meds for now....and I am to get off all caffine (she allowed me 2 cups of coffee a day- either that or 1 coffee one something cho ....just so its not more then 2 a day)Already started with decaf tea and caffine free pepsi to get me started.....I have only had 8 M&M's all weekend as far a cho goes. (thats a major improvment already)
I am to start the Chantix today to stop smoking...She is wondering if the caffiene and or smoking are triggers.....so have to cut them out to see.
I am worried about the crabby b**** syndrome when I quite everything all at once......no clue how to handle stress if no smokes or caffine......so prayers and support are my only staple.......

I really dont know if I can do this. I know its best for my body and my health but my mind and spirit and sanity are another issue........

Already feeling the depression just thinking bout it all weekend.

Any advice would be helpful.........

Thanks for your care and concern while I waited on this report. And to all of you who sent me PM's and notes.....You have no idea how much that ment to me. Thanks from the deepest part of my heart.

Bless you all,
Kay

Sweet Tea, you are one of the most determined women I've known, you can do this and I need you to try. You have a lot on your plate now (even more than usual) and taking care of yourself is the most imortant priority today. This is the friend who loves you speaking.

Well poopy, FFM....not fair, not fair, not fair.

As my old Neuro used to say "Ya do what you have to do". And after he scrapes himself off the wall, I just pushed him into, he repents.

I know this is going to be so hard to do, but, for your own sake, do it, you must. I will be here for any moral support you need, anytime, anywhere.

Sending prayers, vibes, candy cigs (remember those?)...anything you need to help you through this.

Default FFM (Kay)

What a bummer. Life is sure not fair. I feel for ya. I'm very concerned about quitting the caffeine. Severe headaches (withdrawal) are very likely. Try 1/2 caff 1/2 decaf for a week or so, slowly upping decaf ratio.

All the best and please keep us posted.

Hello Kay,
I've never been a big coffee drinker and have never smoked. But, I do want you to know I am thinking of and praying for you. I hope all your efforts will pay off, and that you will be able to get your health problems back in check.

All the best,
Chris

I get the palpatations also, up to 112 skipped beats an hour, and my heart can jump up to 144 just sitting watching TV for no reason. No one is conserned to find out if there is anything behind it, they did all kind of stress tests, echos, ect. the plumbing part of the heart is fine, it's the electrical part that is out of wack.

They just put me on calcium channel blockers and sent me on my way with no scheduled follow up. Just gotta love doctors.

So, did the doc tell you about the caffeine withdrawal headache you are going to get from stopping the caffeine? Stop it slowly my dear FFM! Take this from someone who has been there done that! You know...

MSAcorn has a great idea!

I was once told to stop all the caffeine due to fibrocystic breast disease. Well, it didn't make any difference at all. Not one single bit. I love my coffee (and my chocolate!)

You can do it Kay! I won't lecture you on the smoking...

Have a great trip!

This me time is certainly happening at a good point! Getting away and having nothing to worry about is a good place to start. I hope all these changes do the trick!

Can you do this?

Look at your beautiful children and then ask yourself....can I do this?

I think the answer will be ... Yes!
